Billebogen

New Commercial Locations in the Eastern Section of the City

The Billebogen project will strengthen Hamburg as a business location with highly attractive new spaces and up to 10,000 jobs. In a central location with excellent transport links, 75 hectares of space are being created for modern production and development – as well as for sports, events and leisure activities. Three quarters with individual focal points are growing together through green axes, new bridges and tunnels for cyclists and pedestrians. Spacious waterfront areas are being reimagined. The Rothenburgsort district is growing and moving closer to the city centre.

Stadteingang Elbbrücken quarter is being developed on former motorway slip roads from the 1960s, with new plots and existing buildings for a wide range of businesses and industries. Noise-protected locations also offer residential opportunities. Urban squares and parks by the water create a pleasant atmosphere.

The Neuer Huckepackbahnhof quarter, once a railroad yard and car park, is becoming a location for production, development and events. A planned arena for sports and events, complemented by a hotel, restaurants and social facilities, is bringing the area to life – with excellent accessibility by car and public transport.

Billebecken quarter has a long tradition for production in Hamburg. This is where new halls, offices, and labs are being built, along with public parks by the water. Sports and recreation facilities are being added and expanded. The heritage-listed school on Bullenhuser Damm will stay as a Holocaust memorial and also become a creative hub for work and community.

A modern metropolis needs innovative ideas and sustainable solutions. HafenCity Hamburg GmbH (HCH) has been providing impetus for this for more than two decades. The company’s expertise covers the entire process of planning, negotiating and implementing urban development. This not only benefits HafenCity, Europe's largest inner-city waterfront development project, but also the three other major projects for which HCH and its group companies are responsible: Grasbrook, Billebogen and Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld.
